3 parts rum
5 parts pineapple juice
2 parts cream of coconut
1 part cream

ice cubes, crushed ice

hurricane glass (if you don't have one: longdrink glass)

For a Pina Colada fill a fancy glass or longdrink glass with crushed ice. Mix all ingredients with ice cubes in a shaker and strain into the glass (the ice cubes stay in the shaker). Garnish the Pina Colada drink with pineapple slice and cocktail cherry.

The original Pina Colada drink recipe is from Puerto Rico - so think of palm trees, beaches, a cloudless sky, the sound of the waves... according to that recipe you serve the Pina Colada with freshly shaved ice though. So if you ever get the chance to buy an ice block, do it! Shave ice from the block (it's a lot smoother than crushed ice), fill the glass with the ice and strain the drink into the glass. Now enjoy the truly traditional Pina Colada!
